We constantly update or upgrade our cars, computers, TV’s and mobile phones. We need to check in with our Model of Reality, our Belief System. Do you believe your thoughts? Do you sell yourself short? Maybe it’s time you update your old model of thinking.
You can do this by taking the time to consider what you actually believe. The main beliefs are around Relationships, Money, Career, Self Worth. Write down what your thoughts are on these subject. What did you hear growing up? Eg: Relationships are hard work. Money doesn’t grow on trees. Career – you must work in the same field for 20 plus years. Self Worth – You don’t deserve to have expensive things.
Now decide; is that what you’re signing up for, for the rest of your life? Or do you want to create your own thought or beliefs about these ideas? The best way I have found to change limiting belief systems is to add feeling to my new way of thinking. Put your hands on your heart. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply a few times, relax your shoulders. Now think/ write down your new thoughts or beliefs about Relationships, Money, Career, or Self Worth.
It took many years to create your limiting belief systems, so this practice needs to be repeated. Work on one area. Write it on paper and stick it up somewhere you will see it. I put it on the outside of my shower screen so I can read through it while I’m feeling relaxed.
